The messaging program01

Two kinds of texts.
Both your choice.

DineSights sends text messages only to phone numbers that were entered on a DineSights surface. There are exactly two kinds, and they require separate consent.

α
Security codes (transactional)

When you enter your mobile number and select Send Code, you consent to receive a one-time SMS passcode from DineSights to verify that the number is yours. These messages exist only to sign you in or create your profile. They are not marketing.

β
Restaurant texts (promotional)

A restaurant you have joined may offer occasional texts — a welcome, a reward update, a “we miss you.” You receive these only if you separately opt in to that restaurant’s texts. Entering your number to receive a security code is not consent to promotional texts.

Consent is never a condition of service

You can view any menu, and dine at any restaurant, without sharing your phone number. Agreeing to receive texts — of either kind — is not a condition of any purchase, of dining, or of using a menu.

Program disclosures02

The fine print,
up front.

The standard terms that apply to any text message sent through DineSights.

  • Message frequency varies. Security codes are sent only when you request them. If you opt in to a restaurant’s texts, frequency depends on that restaurant, and is deliberately kept low — typically a few messages per month at most.
  • Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier’s standard messaging and data charges apply to messages you receive from DineSights or from restaurants through DineSights.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Supported carriers: messages are supported on major US and UK mobile networks; availability and sender presentation vary by network and device.
  • Help: reply HELP to any message, email contact@dinesights.com.
  • Opt out any time: reply STOP to any message. See the next section for details.
Who is the sender?

Promotional texts from a restaurant are powered by DineSights, but the restaurant you opted in to — not DineSights — is the sender of those messages. Each restaurant’s texts identify that restaurant by name, and your opt-in applies to that restaurant alone. No restaurant can text diners who opted in at a different restaurant.

Opting out03

Leaving is
one word.

Opting out is immediate, free, and doesn't affect your ability to view menus or visit restaurants.

i.

Reply STOP.

Reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, or OPTOUT) to any message. You may receive a single confirmation message. STOP revokes all restaurant promotional-text consents, and DineSights applies a DineSights-wide promotional-text block.

ii.

Or just tell us in plain words.

A reasonable request in any wording — “please stop texting me” — is honored too. If you’d rather not reply by text, email contact@dinesights.com and we’ll process it for you.

iii.

Scope of an opt-out.

STOP blocks promotional texts from every restaurant using DineSights. Replying START may unblock your number at the carrier/transport level, but it does not restore any restaurant marketing consent. To receive promotional texts from a restaurant again, give that restaurant fresh affirmative consent by checking its opt-in box. STOP does not delete your diner profile or reward progress — for deletion, see your privacy rights.

iv.

Security codes are request-triggered.

One-time passcodes are only ever sent when you request one, so there’s nothing to unsubscribe from — don’t request a code, and none is sent. Marketing opt-outs do not prevent user-requested security codes.

Diner terms of use04

Using the menu
& rewards.

By viewing a DineSights-powered menu or creating a diner profile, you agree to these terms.

  • Menus belong to restaurants. Dishes, prices, photos, and dietary notes are provided by each restaurant, not by DineSights. We don’t verify them. If you have a food allergy or dietary restriction, confirm directly with the restaurant before ordering — menu information on DineSights is not a substitute for asking.
  • Use your own number. Enter only a mobile number that belongs to you. Don’t request codes for numbers that aren’t yours.
  • Rewards are a courtesy of each restaurant. Visit counts and rewards have no cash value, are not transferable, apply only at the restaurant that offered them, and may be changed or discontinued by the restaurant. Rewards obtained through fraud — fake visits, duplicate profiles, manipulated scans — may be revoked, and repeat abuse may end your access.
  • Be 13 or older. You must be at least 13 to create a diner profile. Anyone can view a menu.
  • Don’t break the service. No scraping, probing, overloading, or interfering with DineSights, and no using it to harass anyone or misrepresent who you are.
  • The service is provided as-is. We work hard to keep menus available and accurate to what restaurants publish, but DineSights is provided without warranties, and our liability to diners is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. DineSights is a free service for diners.
  • These terms can change. If they change in a meaningful way, we’ll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
In plain English

View any menu freely. Share your number only if you want visit tracking and rewards. Texts arrive only with your consent, and STOP always works. Check allergies with a human. Don’t game the rewards.

Ready when you are

Unsure about a text?

If a message doesn't look right, or you want out and STOP didn't do it, write in with the number that received it. We'll sort it out.
